WESTLAKE GIRLS UNIFORM REGULATIONS
The Board of Trustees, through the
Principal, expects full cooperation of all students and parents in maintaining
a high standard of dress code in every situation. Westlake Girls Uniform Shop
is operated and managed by UNIFORM GROUP.

11 wear the Westlake uniform and regulation black jacket in Terms 2/3 |

Year 12 |
Year
12 wear either the Westlake uniform or the senior uniform options for their
final two years with
the regulation black jacket in Terms 2/3
* National and international titles holders in Y12 are encouraged to wear
the Senior option. |

Year 13 |
Year
13 wear either the Westlake uniform or the senior uniform options* plus a regulation black jacket in Terms
2/3
* Prefects are expected to purchase the senior options: blazer, one skirt
and two blouses.
They will be awarded a prefect’s tie at the end of
year prize giving. |
WHAT UNIFORM DO I WEAR? |
The regulation uniform is broken into Senior uniform (for Years 12,13)
and the Westlake uniform (for Years 9,10,11). The Senior blazer can only be
worn with the Senior blouse and the Westlake blazer can only be worn with the
Westlake blouse, no mixing of Senior and Westlake, blazers and blouses is
permitted.
Hoodies are not allowed to
be worn in school; only the regulation school black jackets should be worn in
the winter months. Any long sleeve tops worn under shirts must not be visible. |

HOW DO I WEAR MY UNIFORM? |
Students must
demonstrate high standards of personal presentation by wearing their uniform
correctly and with pride in the school. Students should also keep their uniform
clean, tidy and well maintained.
SKIRTS
School
skirts should not be modified or shortened and the integrity of the skirt
design should be maintained.
Please note: The Principal reserves the right to check skirts. If
any student is wearing an extremely short skirt well above the required limit
(and can’t make it longer because it has been cut off), they will be expected
to purchase a replacement skirt immediately. |

BLAZER DAYS - MONDAY TO FRIDAY |
Blazer days are when all students are expected to wear their blazer. We
begin and end EVERY week aiming for the highest standards of personal
presentation to, from and at school. House assemblies are also on Mondays and
Fridays and this is when many students are awarded certificates and special
accolades. |

WHAT DO I WEAR FOR PE?
PE
Uniform includes your specific PE House Shirt, PE Shorts and PE Sport Socks
(Sports Hoodie and Sports Tracksuit are optional). |

REGULATION JEWELLERY
Students
who have pierced ears may wear up to two sets of solid/plain gold or silver studs
in each ear lobe. Diamante and dress earrings of any design are not
acceptable. No other jewellery is
acceptable with the school uniform with the exception of a watch. No visible
body or nose studs/rings are permitted under any circumstances as a matter of
health and safety.
Permission
to wear necklaces of cultural significance may only be given after written
requests from the parent or guardian to the Principal. Once received, with
clear reasons for the request, a decision will be made and parents contacted.
If acceptable, the student will be issued a uniform pass from the Deans. |

HAIR REGULATIONS
Hair
must be well groomed, tidy and off the face so that students can learn
effectively. Any teacher has the right to request hair is tied back in the
interests of safety or hygiene. Only hair colours in the natural human hair
range are acceptable. Extreme hairstyles or colours such as purple, orange,
lime green etc. are not acceptable and students will be asked to remedy them. Ribbon
or ties used to tie hair back must be black only. |

MAKE-UP
It
is inappropriate for students to wear make-up at school. No nail polish should
be worn at any time. |

|
